The small-job epoxy, and the one product in this family that comes in a dual syringe rather than a tin. Press the plunger and it dispenses equal parts resin and hardener every time, so there is nothing to weigh and nothing left over. It sets in 5 to 12 minutes, cures to a metallic grey that sands and machines, and — unusually here — does not conduct electricity, which makes it the choice for sealing electrical components against moisture and vibration.
Key features
- Dual syringe — dispenses equal parts every time, no weighing
- Sets in 5–12 minutes; usable strength at 12 hours, full cure at 24
- Non-conductive — for sealing electrical components
- Machinable and sandable; will not crack when drilled
- Bonds metal, concrete, glass, ceramic and wood
- Does not shrink; resistant to water and most common solvents
- 22.0 N/mm² tensile shear on steel after 7 days
- Holds strength after solvent immersion — 21.8 N/mm² in petrol

How to use it
- Surfaces must be clean, dry and free from oil, wax, paint and rust. Roughen smooth surfaces by sandblasting or with emery cloth. Wash glass and ceramic with soap and water, rinse and dry.
- Pre-fit the parts before mixing.
- Remove the plug, then cut the syringe tips at one of the three cut-off points — 4 or 5 mm for easier extrusion, 3 mm for finer work.
- Turn the syringe tip-up, pull the plunger back slightly to let air bubbles rise, then press to expel the air.
- Depress the double piston onto a disposable surface and mix thoroughly for about one minute.
- Apply to both surfaces, join and press together. Wipe excess away immediately with acetone.
- Support until set (5–12 minutes); clamp for an hour for best results.
- Wipe the tips clean, retract the piston slightly and replace the plug in the same orientation.
Handling and storage
- Not recommended for polyethylene, polypropylene, non-stick coatings, nylon or flexible materials.
- Do not use where the bond will be continuously immersed in water or in permanently wet areas — for those, use Devcon Wet Surface Repair Putty (UW) or Loctite EA 3463.
- Do not use in potable water systems.
- Do not use where short-term heat exposure will exceed 150°C.
- Apply and cure in a well-ventilated area; wear gloves and wash hands after use.
- Not damaged by freezing — if frozen, warm to room temperature until the components are liquid enough to mix.
The syringe or a tin?
This is the grade for a small, quick, one-off repair — a 25 ml syringe with no measuring and no waste, and the only one here that is non-conductive for electrical work. For rebuilding a worn part to size, the tinned grades are far stronger: EA 3471 at 61.7 N/mm² compressive machines to a metal finish, and EA 3478 reaches 134 N/mm². For a leak that must stop now, or anything wet, use EA 3463, which cures underwater in ten minutes.
